Playhouse Disney Live! begins a 12-city UK tour on April 24 at the National
Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. For the first time, characters from four
popular Playhouse Disney TV shows appear together live on stage for an
unforgettable musical celebration. Produced by Feld Entertainment, Playhouse
Disney Live! brings audiences into the colourful worlds of Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, My Friends Tigger & Pooh and Handy Manny.
The show will travel to theatres and arenas in Birmingham, Brighton, Newcastle,
Grimsby, Manchester, York, Liverpool, London, Edinburgh, Nottingham and Bristol.
Playhouse Disney Live! concludes its run in Braehead at the end of June.

Mickey’s hosting a musical party at the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and everyone’s
invited! The story unfolds as the Playhouse Disney Postess delivers party
invitations to all of Mickey’s Playhouse Disney pals. The audience follows along
as the pals venture off to find music in the Hundred Acre Woods, Sheetrock Hills
and all over the world.
“We have a very demanding audience – kids – and we want to ensure we’ve exceeded
their expectations for what could serve as their first theatrical experience,”
says Producer Kenneth Feld. “Playhouse Disney Live! brings characters that
children love from their favorite Playhouse Disney TV shows to the stage in an
exciting musical production. They will learn that music can be found everywhere
as they sing and dance to music we’ve brought from all around the world.”
Jonathan Boseley, VP Programming Disney Channels UK said: "Playhouse Disney uses
creative storytelling and engaging characters to help make learning a playful
experience for preschoolers. We’re thrilled that this wonderful new stage tour
is coming to the UK. Parents and preschoolers will be able to interact with the
live stage production and their favourite Playhouse Disney music and
characters."
Producer Alana Feld adds, “Throughout Playhouse Disney Live! we have placed
interactive moments that children and parents alike will enjoy. Kids will pat,
pat, pat with the Little Einsteins and even be called on stage to dance to the
‘Hot Dog!’ song, all while learning that everyone in the world can make music
and it brings the world together.”
The Little Einsteins, along with trusty Rocket, take audiences around the globe
on a musical fieldtrip as they fly to China, India, Russia, Egypt, Italy, Japan,
Spain and Africa to discover different music cultures. “It is so rewarding to
see the children’s excitement when they are asked to pat along with the Little
Einsteins to power up Rocket,” says Director Jay Smith. “And they even get to
see them fly in Rocket across stage and onto our rear projection screen!”
Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and their friend Darby call upon the kids to help solve
the mystery of their missing music. Smith adds, “When we go into the Hundred
Acre Woods, we have fun with the audience making nature songs with birds and
frogs and bees that appear on the screen buzzing, tweeting and ribbiting!
Audiences are bound to have a blast making music for Mickey's party using the
many sounds of the forest.”
Everyone boogies in Sheetrock Hills with Handy Manny and his talking handy-dandy
tools as they use their special talents to make an upbeat song to share at
Mickey's party. The citizens of Sheetrock Hills add to the rhythm using bricks,
brooms and buckets. “Everyone works together to create a dynamic tumble and
dance number to a 'stomp'-like beat. It is incredibly energetic and a lot of fun
to watch! The audience is clapping and singing along the entire time,” says
Director Patty Vincent.
“It’s incredibly exciting for us to be bringing this popular stage show to the
children in the UK,” says Regional Marketing Director Steven Armstrong. “I’m
from England, and I know the kids here are going to love seeing their favorite
characters live.”
The party comes together at the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse where the audience helps
Mickey out with the four magic words “Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse” to enter.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy make their own music for the party and decorate
the clubhouse for Mickey’s big musical bash. Mickey reminds his friends that
music brings everyone together as all of the Playhouse Disney pals take the
stage and share their special songs. Playhouse Disney Live! will give children a
treasured musical experience they will never forget.
