TARA BERNERD RESTYLES NEW ACCOMMODATION AT CENTER PARCS

Center Parcs, the UK’s leading short break holiday company, has launched its stunning newly restyled lodges, designed by the renowned designer Tara Bernerd CEO and founder of interior architecture and design company Target Living.

After 20 years as the UK’s number one short breaks destination, Center Parcs has launched its most ambitious change project ever. Phase one, a £60m restyling programme, will see over 1000 lodges (30% of capacity) transformed by April 2008. Working with Center Parcs’ existing open-plan family living design, Tara Bernerd has created a stylish and contemporary feel, which will appeal to Center Parcs’ discerning guests. The introduction of a feature wall depicting an image of picturesque woodland in the living space brings the true feeling of the Center Parcs forest into the lodges, which is complemented by a new colour palette continuing the woodland theme. Plasma screen TVs, oak flooring and contemporary fixtures and fittings combine luxury and nature, demonstrate great style in Center Parcs serene forest settings.

In addition to the restyling programme, 77 newly re-styled 3 & 4 bed Executive Woodland Lodges will be carefully blended into the forest landscape across all four villages, each carrying Tara’s new designs. From the wood-clad frontage which fits seamlessly into the woodland setting to the high quality chrome fittings throughout, Center Parcs will be setting new standards for family short break holidays in the UK.

Center Parcs Sales & Marketing Director Colin Whaley commented, ‘Tara Bernerd is one of the leading interior designers working out of the UK today. The reason that we chose Target Living is their energetic and striking approach to design and their commitment to absorbing and understanding our guests’ needs.’

Tara Bernerd CEO of Target Living commented, ‘It is an incredible project to be a part of, the challenge being to create a fresh approach to the entire experience, embracing the great outdoors yet now bringing a new lodge that is all about today, open layouts, bold palettes and keeping it fresh and fun.”

Tara continues, “The biggest hit for those returning to a Center Parcs holiday will be when they first walk-in – as the new lodge represents a complete departure from the previous styling. We have brought the essence of the forest inside, we have even covered one whole wall with an iconic landscape image to emphasise this. We have really focused on injecting that feeling of outdoors into the lodges. Our colour schemes and styling encourages families to gather around the fire to share their Center Parcs experiences in a contemporary setting.”

In the UK, Center Parcs Villages are located at Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, Longleat Forest in Wiltshire and Whinfell Forest in Cumbria. Nestled amid 400 acres of beautiful woodland - each village boasts first-class indoor and outdoor sporting, leisure and relaxation facilities, including the award-winning Aqua Sana Spa, sensitively set within the forest.
